Imagine one of these vintage styled head bands on your bundle of joy. Lace, tooling, pearls,and rhinestones all things classic and timeless that evoke one common thread: Beauty!

Embellished trinket boxes are a perfect way to present a very special gift for a Queen. Whether young or old a girl loves to feel spoiled and prized. Theres no need for wrapping when you have this box as it serves two purposes, one something enchanted for the eye to look at, and two the keeping place of special gifts.

So many friends and family members are having babies which has given me a bit of baby fever. So, during these past few weeks I have been inspired by all of the glowing mommies to make baby booties, head bands, embellished beanies, keepsake boxes and so much more. In addition I have been reminded of the precious children we are to our Lord. Each of us beautifully and wonderfully created in his image. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you…” – Jeremiah 1:5
This vintage baby image inspired me to create precious baby keepsakes. I added a silk bow with vintage rhinestones to add an altered look.

Every time I see a tiny pair of baby booties I simply melt. Something about their size reminds me of the innocence children posses and their precious value.
I created these paper baby shoes with the vision of them being placed in a keepsake shadow box or on a shelf in a baby’s nursery.

Last week my mother came to visit and we spent a few days together. From the craft room to the tea room we enjoyed our time in conversation and laughter. One evening after dinner we went and picked fresh flowers and then enjoyed a cup of tea as we sat and browsed through the magazine “Where Women Create”. From page to page I was inspired to keep following my dreams of creating. I was reminded that God truly has created women with a heart to nurture, inspire, and create a beauty in their house that makes it a home. I have been enjoying these few months away from “work”, and instead am enjoying discovering many of the gifts the Lord has blessed me with. Its often the simple moments of conversation with family and friends, picking free flowers, discovering a good novel, making a delicious dinner for your husband, a cup of warm tea, or just doing what we enjoy that brings us the freedom and happiness that so many try to find in worldly things. From relationships, to your hearts true loves seek those things that bring you joy and make time for them. Cheers!
At your next birthday party allow each of your guests to make a “Wish”. These glassine bags are perfect to have at a candy bar where guests can fill each bag with the sweet treats of their choice. Or, fill them with treasures then present them to your guests. However you use them their whimsy appearance will surely make all wishes come true.

Red, White & Blue will be seen across America on July 4th. This day is a special moment to remember the freedoms and rights that were secured for us hundreds of years ago. In addition, my heart can not go without mentioning those who have faithfully and willingly served our nation to ensure that our rights and freedoms continue to be secured. A very special thank you to the men and women who have and continue to serve our country, may you be blessed for your service. For you we are grateful.

Our family had the privilege of honoring our Mother and Grandmother at a Luncheon on Mothers Day. We carefully prepared a Menu with delectable treats that would be sure to provide a delicious meal. In addition, we couldn’t help but prepare a throne for the “Queens”, as this was a day to honor them and make them feel like the beautiful women that they are. Edmund Prieto took some fabulous photos to capture the beauty of this day.

The table was embellished with details and thoughtfully created gifts that represented the beauty and elegance of a mother.
Candy Filled Tussie Mussies hung from the back of each chair as a Sweet Treat.

These darling stir sticks served as name tags.

With Mothers Day less than a week away we are reminded of the wonderful women who have nurtured, molded, and shaped us into whom we are today. I create this post with special women in mind, my mother Denise (Mom, Mother, Mama, Marme), her mother Nancy (Grandma), her mother Mary (Mimi), along with my fathers mother Janet (Grandma). Each of these women has a silver lining which makes them women to be prized.
When I look at my mother I see a selfless woman who puts others before herself, her attention to detail makes anything she touches beautiful, and her willingness to serve before being served is admirable. As a young girl I wished that one day I could be just as beautiful as her when I became a mother. When I think of my mother I think of the sweet smell she has every time you hug her, the warmth her home emits when you enter it and above all the countless conversations we have and the advice she gives. She is a dedicated mother and wife whom preservers through even the darkest of storms. For her I am grateful and am honored to be her daughter.
When I look at my Grandma Nancy I see strength and a willingness to be humble. I admire her unconditional love that she gives to everyone. She never judges and instead sets her heart on making every person she meets feel comfortable and important. My fondest memories are sitting on the couch with grandma and having her tickle our arms, or put pretend makeup on our faces. No matter how old we get she still spoils us like we are little girls.
When I remember precious Mimi I see a tender hearted woman, one who always was concerned for everyone’s well being before her own. My fondest memories were those of visiting her home and playing flower shop with my sisters on her front porch bench, eating See’s chocolates together, and listening to her stories about dandelion bubble blowers. She was a classy woman who taught all of us how to be a lovely lady.
When I look at my Grandma Jan I see a homemaker who finds value in eating dinner together at the table, having the table set properly and a woman who takes time for conversation. My fondest memories are those of sipping tea together, making Christmas tarts and of course hearing about her journey from England to America.
Each of these “Queens” are mothers who are valued above Rubies and Pearls. Each of them has planted the seed of seeking first our Lord and seeking his wisdom and truth in how to be a woman of integrity. I am thankful for their lives and blessed to Honor them on Mothers Day and Every Day.
Proverbs 31: 25-31
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
One afternoon my husband and I went for a walk and I picked these dried grapes from near by vineyards. Something about their unperfected nature drew me to them and I began to fill a bag with mini bunches. My inspirations come from taking unperfected items and creating them into treasures. Although I did not know what I would create at the moment I picked them anyway. As I walked from vine to vine I imagined that I was on an Italian villa inside a vineyard picking grapes for a delicious wine. This dream inspired me to create something unique to embellish a wine bottle. With vintage pages from a book, tags, and dried grapes I created wine bottle charms for your favorite bottle of wine. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to feature these tags at a local wine store, Casa DeVino, in my home town. Pick up your favorite bottle of wine and choose the perfect wine tag to accompany the bottle. Display it in your home, from a wine rack or use it as a gift tag. As you sip on your wine remember to dream and be inspired.
